Langkawi Trip Part 2
Published by lihua on Thursday, November 23, 2006 at 1:17 pm.
Alrity. In the previous post, I stopped at the part where we pissed off a fat car rental man.
We then rented a Toyota Unser for RM70 per day, for four days. On the final day, we could return the car to the jetty at anytime. Since we were taking a flight back to KL, the rental people charged us an additional RM20 to drive us all to the airport. Kinda fair la...
Us Chilling In The Car.
It was in the car that we "SiONG KAI" to Darren and Wilson. "Siong Kai" sorta mean adoption in cantonese. So it was decided that Wilson was Baba (because he drove and he is a Baba, as in Baba Nyonya). Naturally, Darren was Mama. Ok, don't ask me why it was natural, i do not know.
So niceee! We were one big happy family.
Since we could only check into Sheraton at about 3 pm, we decided to go to Tanjung Rhu to kill some time. The journey was quite long and we had quite a lot of fun singing James Blunt's You're Beautiful out of tune in the car. We also repetitively yelled "Baba and Mama!" in the car, since we asian are taught to respect ze elders, especially parents.
Along the way, we spotted a secluded beach with beautiful blue water. Unable to resist the temptation, we stopped the car by the roadside and headed off to the beach.

Camwhoring with the rental car.
I learnt the art of making the stone bounce a few time before sinking into the water. Apparently, the skill lies in throwing the stone at a angle as horizontal as possible. Thanks to our SIFU Baba Wilson.
Our daddy likes to squat.
This pic is too chio~

Tried to capture many jump pics ala Smashpop. But to no avail. Somebody please teach me!
Rich, lazy daddy sleeping on the beach.
Like father, like daughters. The beach chairs were property of Four Seasons Hotel, i think. We trespassed, hee... Later on, the Security Uncle came and halau-ed us away. But he did is nicely la... he said "Sorry, for hotel guests oni..." Wuah, good manners wei...
With happiness come nice poses.
Pikki and I lifting the stone boulders. What do you call a female Hercules. Hercula? And plural of Hercula? Herculae. (nods in contentment)
My lil sis Cynthia and I. And by Too Kiut, i mean me.

Langkawi Trip Part 1
Published by lihua on Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at 11:19 pm.
WHEEE!
I'm back BLOGGING (i think).
Since the trip was a few days and 1128 pictures long, I shall spilt it into a few entries.
Must faster blog about it ady.. cause I find some of the information a little hazy already. lol.
Disclaimer: Trip mates might find some 'information' intentionally left out. Sorry la, this blog is not parent-proof *winks repetitively*
Night 1
We took a Transnational 3-seater bus (no, the bus does not have only 3 seats) to Kuala Perlis at the cost of RM 33. The bus left from the Jalan Duta bus station at approximately 11.00 pm with 9 noisy idiots aboard. Yes, we were the noisy idiots. Seating arrangements were as below:
1) Kakak Sheena + Pikki
2) MeiXian
3) Phangz + Ding
4) Yours truly
5) Mom + Dad (Darren and Wilson)
6) Cynthia
Insomnia List were as follows:
1) MeiXian
2) Me
3) Phangz
4) Cynthia
The rest were sleeping like pigs. Not that it wasn't expected of Kakak lah... for, she is the sleep queen.
Yes.That.Is.Kakak.Sleeping.In.A.Bathtub.
Haha. Will get to that a little later.
Stopped half-journey for a half-hour break at somewhere ( i really dunno where we were). As usual, MX and Wilson was really hungry, so they ate Nasi Lemak, Burger and Maggie mee. I mean, whats new about MX eating? Now, if she DIDN't eat, then that's news. (I'm turning into a mean blogging mean ogre. Sorry MX, JOKING dear)
MX eatin'.
Girls' Group Pic at the Rest Area.
Disclaimer #2: Due to the enormous amount of photos taken, I am not able to properly credit the photographs. I can pinpoint which camera it was taken with, but I dunno who took which pic...
Light were switch off during the journey. To compensate for that, the drebar bas decided to switch on the air-conditioning at full blast. WTH crazy la. We are in a tropical country ok, wanna freeze me to death is it? Luckily i drank same propylene glycol (antifreeze) before boarding the bus. (No i didn't drink it la, please don't think it is consumable).
I took a photograph of the lighting in the bus. Special, innit.
At about 5am, we arrived at Kuala Perlis. Within seconds of stepping off the bus, a few guys came over and offered us so-called 'special rates' for hotels, car rentals, ferry tickets and snorkelling packages. If we didn't know better, we'd be fooled. See, last year when some of us (excluding me), the SAME people cheated us (excluding me again) RM70. To cut the long story short, DO NOT take any 'cheap and special' packages from the people at the K. Perlis jetty. You can get the same, if not better, prices on the island itself.
So, anyways, Darren gave us a bit of a fright when he disappeared immediately after getting off the bus. Apparently he went off in the opposite direction from where we were heading. After waiting for a bit, we decided to go to the ferry ticketing booth. And SUR-PRISE! We saw him there already.
Turns out he hopped onto a stranger's motorcycle who ferried (pun intended) him to the ferry jetty. And by the time we arrived, he already bought the tickets. Efficient, yes, but not the smartest way to give us heart attack. lol.
After buying the tickets, we had some time to kill. Off we headed to this old-school style Malay (not mamak) restaurant.
Signboards at K. Perlis.
A young malay lady made the roti canai. Maybe its just me, but since the proliferation of mamaks in KL, eating roti canai made by ladies have become some of a rarity for me. Usually, I only get to eat those made by foreign men.
The roti telur was kinda nice and the curry was tasty. But then the Milo kosong was not GAU at all and the rest of the gang complained. Maybe K. Perlis people don't drink GAU Milo leh... luckily I ordered Milo... not kosong... at least it was sweet, heee...
Soon, 6am arrived and we walked back to the nearby jetty to board our ferry.
Did I just captioned the picture 'Ferry Fairies'? Somebody KILL me!
This picture could have been a tad more interesting had I held the camera more firmly. I cannot understand why I have such shaky hands. I do not eat chicken feet. Heck, I hardly eat CHICKEN.
Kakak Sheena and Ding ding in the felli.
MX hogged three ferry seats and made herself comfortable so that she could catch her 40 winks.
Arriving on Booze Island :) The Biggest club in the Malaysia.
Lazy PikYi had a taste of her own medicine when the LiHuas gleefully gave her the fright of her life, much to the delight of Cynthia in the background. (p.s. Cynthia is the SOK-est of us all.)
Waitin' for our rental car to arrive. There was this fatman who was pretty pissed off with us. He quoted a ridiculous price for car rental, and we brushed him off, telling him that we wanted to 'pergi makan dulu'.. but then we went to rent another car instead. Serves him right la. Wanna cheat us, not so easy!
WOKIE. Time to sleep dy. Working nowadays, so I have to wake up really early. *sighness*
Till next entry, ciao~

Busy!
Published by lihua on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at 4:54 pm.
And I thought I would have much less work after exams.
On the contrary, i have loads to do:
1. For the business - omg too much to do i'm scared.
2. Rush for the trip video (hopefully can do it by Mon) - No easy feat since we took approx. 1128 pictures plus some other videos during the trip. How to arrange? How to categorise? My laptop is old and cannot handle such a formidable project :(...
3. I wanna blog about the trip. :( No time.
4. Room is freaking dirty.
Another make-me-think-of-Sheraton pic:
I wanna go back!!!
Emptiness.

Had HEAPS of fun at Langkawi with all the peeps.
But I feel empty now.
Miss 'em heaps.
Heres a pic. Too moody to sort out the pics. PLUS there are too many of them, and some are still with Cynthia, Darren and MeiXian(videos).
OMG the videos we made were hilarious.
Time to watch 'em again! :)
Look who hitched a ride on my car today...
Life Goes On.
Fun @ The Fair!

WOOOHOOOOO!!!
Exams are OVER and DONE with!
Okie a quick rundown on how i did...
NOT GOOD.
Three weeks of insufficient sleep and continuous mugging will cause:
1) Extreme exhaustion
2) Suddenly proliferation of obscene red pimples on face
3) Obesity (due to instant cup noodles @ campus)
4) Sudden urge to take insane videos
5) Compulsive litterbug syndrome (throwing of rubbish from the ground floor to 1st floor)
6) Affinity to sleep on benches/chairs in public
*this list is not exhaustive, there were many other things we did in the uni campus :p.
And other negative effects.
But whateverlahidon'tcarealready.
First thang we did was head off to Pyramid for.....
jeng jeng jeng... what else but
REDBOX.
Woohoo, syiok like mad!!! (sorry, this post will continue to be filled with intelligible exclamations)
After the screaming session everyone was dead tired and all collapsed into a state of vegetation by the time we hit home.
Initially we wanted to go clubbing at Zouk but did't because:
1) Still exhausted
2) The kids (Wilson, Pikki, DingDing, MX) might not be able to enter
So we decided to go to Euro Fun Fair @ 1U instead.
List of Attendees:
1. Me
2. MeiXian
3. Pikki
4. Wilson
In Front of the Entrance.
Didn't carry my camera into the place because we wanted to try some of the rides.
List of Rides Tried:
1. Challenger (SCARYYYY + DIZZY)
2. Flying Car or something (NAUSEOUS)
3. Ferris Wheel (DIzZy)
4. Vortex. (Okie, this is a lie)
Vortex is freaking scary... it swings you 360 degrees... giving the similar effect as jumping from a high rise builiding. Wuah damn crazy. I think i will faint if i try it. Too old for such heart-stopping rides.
Took a few pictures in the fair with pikyi's phone camera. Will upload it later.
Oh, and our dear friend Mei Xian puke.
Hello?!?! Is this the Certified Lifeguard we know? The one who can save lives??!!!?
TARAK GUNA MIA BUDAK! lol.
Anyways, it was damn fun/funny. The carnival atmosphere really got to me. There really is something about BRIGHT BLINKING LIGHTS that feeds the soul.
Tripodless + Impatience + Lousy Composition Skills = The pic above. :)
The centre is only partially light up :(.
Sighz. Wanna go again solely for taking pics :)
Gotta go! Shoppin'!
News Flash.

One of my dad's workers got featured in the local papers today. Saw articles about it in theSun, TheStar, Berita Harian and Malay Mail. Didn't check the other papers but i THINK they would have given the news a mention as well.
Here is the excerpt:

Twin foetuses found -by AZMAN ABDUL GHANI -
YESTERDAY was not an ordinary day for Musykar Hussin, an Indah
Water Konsortium general worker based at the company ’s oxidation pond in
Taman Wawasan, Puchong.
The 36-year-old man was busy manning the machine which filters the rubbish at the pond when it came to a halt at 8am.
Thinking it was caused by some rubbish getting stuck in the machine, Masykur decided to look.
To his horror, the man saw two foetuses stuck to the machine.
He immediately called the police.
“This is the first time in the past 12 years that I have made such a discovery.”
The oxidation pond receives a large volume of waste from houses and offices in the
surrounding area.
Police believe the foetuses could have been flushed down the toilet from one of the premises.
Tracking them down would be hard, a source admitted.
Initial police checks revealed that the foetuses, between 18cm and 25cm
in length, were male and female twins. The age of the foetuses could not be ascertained.
Subang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Fuad Talib confirmed the incident and said a post-mortem
Just had my genetics exam today. Apparently, many miscarriages are due to chromosomal disorders in the zygote/embryo/foetus itself, and spontaneous abortions do occur due to these abnormalities (Source: my lecture notes).
But the thing is, was this a miscarriage or an intended abortion?
Anyhow, it really saddens/frightens me because there was not one, but TWO foetuses found. Twins, wei, Twins. So cham/scary...
People...! If wanna play, then play safe. Dun anyhow simply play. Wanna play, play properly la.
